I loved wearing my boat shoes but always felt so dorky bc no other person at my highschool wore them. I think in college they eventually fell out of my wardrobe. I can't believe we're coming back to them.
I have so, so many Sperrys lmfao; I never throw them away, I always think: "This will be a good shoe to do yard work in," and then I wear whatever newer Sperrys I have while I do yard work, because they're boat shoes and I'll be damned if I treat them like something to be "taken care of"!!!
A while back, I ordered a pair of like... I guess aftermarket modified Sperrys with an incredible floral print on them, but when they arrived I discovered the site had lied and they were, indeed, women's sizes in the dropdown.
I'm convinced that Sperrys with patterns / designs would be absolutely ultimate, and for me personally the ideal possible shoe; I dream of the range of e.g. Vans or Converses or whatever (hopefully even better, but I'd take that!), but on Sperrys. This is one of the things I live for: the day when it's possible to get boat shoes with crazy patterns of many varieties on them.
Continuing: I recently got a new kind of Sperry: "Authentic Original™ Double Sole Nubuck Boat Shoe" in a color they call "khaki" but which I know better as "white." I mourn the absence of the (obnoxious, constantly untying) traditional laces; but these are, from a performance standpoint, incredible. They're really light; they breath well; and the lace design makes them even lazier an option than regular boat shoes, which now seem like thigh-highs in terms of lace complexity to me.
Your parents seem dope, which doesn't ultra-shock me given you!
I can't stand "taking care of" my clothes! Good news, I THINK there are def patterned Sperrys in mens sizes out there, will do some digging. Also, I did notice your white pair looked like way more comfortable than any pairs I've had. Shoe technology has really advanced (almost as much as cars... lol JK JK that's impossible).
I had a pair a of sperry’s in high school 🙂↔️
I had a pair after college and I wore them to shreds!
The red ones are so good! Also unlocked a memory of a pair of Eastland ones i used to have ... gotta look for them!

Isn’t that funny. Seems the be the cyclical way of fashion trends. I’m still chuckling at the wide leg pants shift. It’s all pretty fun :)
I can’t keep up!

it's enough that I sometimes (and I won't say this out loud) don't want to wear my regular sperrys
