I know!!! i looked it up because i was trying to give it to a friend’s daughter for her birthday but it was so pricey. I settled for Pretty Pretty Princess instead.
Ok wow the eames set is insane, might have to get that for my partner 👀👀👀 we ended up playing chess after eating on thanksgiving and we’re so evenly matched in how Bad we are at it that it was perfect - everyone in the house got involved and it was such a nice gentle end to the holiday. We immediately added a nice vintage set to our ongoing “apt items” wishlist 😂
Literally my partner knocked out very nearly all of my pieces (was I supposed to … hold onto those?) and yet somehow we ended in a stalemate because we just made such baffling choices. Perfectly low-stakes yet weirdly compelling, didn’t look at my phone once!
Dude there are so many on this list I want to try! MindTrap sounds excellent. I come from a Monopoly family, too. My little brother was savage. We also played the occasional Yahtzee and Clue. We've moved on to Uno in recent years. My mom gives us all a new deck every year for Christmas. It's absurd how many variations of that card game there are. When we're apart, we do a Zoom call and each house plays using our own. I also sometimes carry a deck around incase there might be an opportunity to pull it out. It's easy to learn and most people have played it so if you're sitting around awkwardly or at the airport or something, there's usually a fellow human or two nearby who is down to play.
My favorite game though is Reverse Charades. The Christmas my mom flopped around on the ground like a fish out of a water will be etched into our memories for the rest of time. We picked up a new game called You Can't Say Umm this week. We'll test it out at Christmas and I'm thinking I'll bring it to my team retreat in January.
scattergories is easily the best family game ever invented. I remember so many arguments for and against answers. I feel like I’ve done every list and every letter combo.
Where is dream phone?
omg, great call out. know what’s crazy? this game is soooooo expensive on ebay! like $300! https://www.ebay.com/p/2255422184?iid=375850287235
